H ello again! Today I am featuring 4 cards from one sheet of the new Graceful Glass Designer Vellum. This set has 2 each of 12 unique vellum designs that are so beautiful! You can mix and match them, color them or incorporate them into your cards as is! They are very versitile! I created 4 different yet similar cards changing it up with color, stamps and embossing folders, for a fairly quick and easy card.
Project Recipe
I actually started making one card using the Around the corner stamp set with the Graceful Glass vellum, but since I colored all the images on the one sheet, I decided to run with it, and just picked and chose what things to use with it. So I'll try to explain as I go.
What ever color you choose to use, the dimensions will remain the same on all the cards.
For the Base Whisper white- 5 1/" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and fold.
Whisper white- 4 1/4" x 5"-for sentiments
Color paper of choice- 4" x 5 1/4"
Graceful Glass- 4 flower panels on one sheet, Trim each panel out - 1 1/2" x 4"
Vellum- 3" x 4" piece
For all cards, color your Graceful Glass Vellum first, then take the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of colored paper you have chosen. Here you will either stamp directly on the colored card stock or emboss it, then you will cut one piece at 5/8" x 5 1/4"", and one piece 2 1/8" x 5 1/4"" . Place glue dots on the sides of the vellum you've colored on the back, and then put together as shown with the Vellum on top. The underlying card stock should come in about 1/8" in on both sides, leaving the entire piece to measure 4" across. Put Stampin Dimensionals on the back and attach to the base card.
Now that the basics are covered, here is the info for each card. The first one I did, I chose the vine flowers. I colored them with Stampin blends, light Daffodil Delight, dark Powder Pink, Light Pumpkin Pie and Light and dark Old Olive. I used Powder Pink Cardstock, stamped with the Around the corner stamp set in Black, and added Vellum butterflies, pearls, and a bit of Bronze metallic washi tape.
For the butterflies I took plain vellum and colored the paper with light Daffodil Delight, then used 2 butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and stamped on top of the yellow in Black ink. Next I cut them out with matching Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly Punches. Then I colored a bit more in the dark Daffodil Delight for shading on the back side so not to smear the black ink on the front. Then I folded them in half and attached with glue dots so they look 3-d.
Next Card I chose the vellum panel with the roses. Stampin Blend Colors I used for it were Dark Daffodil Delight, dark Calypso Coral and light Cherry Cobler. The leaves I used Garden green Stampin Write markers. I picked Grapefruit Grove for the card stock, which I also chose to emboss with the Modern Mosaic Embossing folder. Added a Thank You sentiment from the Love what you do stamp set in Black, with the Everyday Lable Punch on Whisper white paper, and added a bit of grapefruit grove with a dauber around the edge. Lastly I added a bow in some matching ribbon I had on hand.
The third card I chose the Iris panel of vellum. The stampin blend colors I used were Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light Daffodil Delight, light and dark Old Olive and light Pool Party. The cardstock is Rich Razzleberry and its embossed with the Pretty Paisleys embossing folder. I then used an Aqua Painter brush filled with bleach, and went over the raised parts which lightened the paper and showed off the embossing more. The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp set, stamped in Black ink on Whisper white, punched out with the Pretty Lable punch. I put dimensionals on the back, & a bit of matching ribbon to finish it.
Finally, for the last card, I chose the Lillys vellum panel and colored it with Light & Dark Night of Navy, Light Old Olive Stampin Blends, and Garden Green Stampin Write marker. The cardstock color is Blueberry Bushel. It was embossed with the Lovely Floral Embossing folder, and again I used an Aqua Painter filled with bleach to go over the raised parts, to make them stand out more. The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set, and stamped in Versamark ink with White Embossing Powder. Set with a Head Tool and its done.
Here you can see what a difference the bleach makes. This is a technique I had not tried before, and I like it!
I hope you liked these cards. Give it a try, I think you'll find it simple and fun!
Happy Stampin!
