C ASEd from the Catalogue, this 4" x 6" Christmas Card features handstamped Poinsettia & Holly Leaves with a 'Season's Greetings' Banner, dressed up with a little bit of gold bling.
Project Recipe
Cut a piece of Granny Apple Green Cardstock to measure 8" x 6" (20.4cm x 15.2cm) and score it with the long side to the top at 4" (10.2cm). Fold the card along the score line and burnish it with your Bone Folder.
(To save on cardstock, I cut my 6" x 4" bases slightly shorter on the 6" side so I can get 2 bases from an A4 sheet of cardstock. If you would like to do this, then your card should measure 5 27/32" (14.8cm) - yes it's a bit fiddly, but I think it's worth it for the extra base).
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 4 5/8" x 3 1/4" (11.7cm x 8.2cm).
Ink the Poinsettia stamp with Poppy Parade and stamp about halfway down the piece of card and slightly overhanging the left hand edge.
Ink the Holly Leaves stamp with Granny Apple Green Ink and stamp around the Poinsettia as in the photograph.
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 5 3/4" x 3 3/4" (14.6cm x 9.4cm).
(If you are using my odd measurements, then the long side of this piece needs to measure 5 19/32" (14.2cm))
Ink the Holly Leaves stamp with Granny Apple Green and stamp the top left and bottom right corners, taking the image off the edge as shown.
Take a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 3 1/2" x 3/4" (8.8cm x 2.2cm).
Snip the ends of the piece to form a banner - this is even easier to do using Stampin' UP!'s Triple Banner Punch, although you will need a slightly longer piece of card so the finished punched banner measures 3 1/2".
Ink the Season's Greetings stamp with Granny Apple Green ink and stamp the greeting centrally on the strip.
Cut a piece of Vellum Cardstock to measure 4 5/8" x 3 1/4" (11.7cm x 8.2cm).
Cut a piece of Under The Mistletoe Designer Series Paper measuring 4 5/8" x 3 1/4" (11.7cm x 8.2cm). I used the Shaded Spruce with Whisper White and Old Olive Random Spot design.
You are now ready to build up your card.
Take the piece of Vellum and attach it to the card base, angling it towards the right as shown.
Layer the piece of DSP on top of the vellum, angling it towards the left as shown.
Next, layer the stamped panel on top, keeping it straight as shown.
Cut a piece of 1/8" Gold Cord measuring just over 8" (20.4cm). Fold this in half to form a loop then attach it to the back of your banner strip using Mini Glue Dots.
Attach 3 Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the banner above and below the Cord.
Attach the banner to the card with the top edge roughly halfway down the card front.
Take 2 large and 1 small gold Metallic Sequins, and attach them to the card as shown using either the Multipurpose Liquid Glue or the Fine Tip Glue Pen - squeeze carefully as you only need a small dot of adhesive.
Add three Metallic Pearls in Gold to the centre of the Poinsettia.
Attach the Holly stamped piece of Whisper White Cardstock to the inside right of the card as a message panel.
Your card is now complete, so sit back and admire your handiwork!
DON'T FORGET - if you want to sell your cards, the '(c) Stampin' UP!' needs to be clearly marked on the back. The easiest way to do this is with the stamp included in either the 'Make A Difference' or 'Crafting Forever' stamp set. For more details on the Stampin' UP! Angel Policy, see Page 179 of the 2018/19 Annual Catalogue.
