Above The Clouds Peekaboo June Swap |
F un "peekaboo window" card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and Window Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Crumb Cake Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 8" and scored at 5-1/2"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 4" from Seaside Spray Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 4" from Window Sheets
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Crumb Cake Cardstock at least 1-1/2" long
As you are ready to stamp using the Above The Clouds Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put some paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
If you haven't already done so, squeeze some Whisper White Craft Ink Refill onto the Uninked Craft Stampin' Pad.
Mount the set of 3 clouds image from the Above The Clouds Set on Block H. Ink it up using the Whisper White Craft Ink Pad. Stamp all over the rectangle of Seaside Spray Cardstock. Re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges and let some overlap. Set the stamped strip aside to dry, the clouds will get more opaque as they dry.
Tip: Be careful not to get craft ink on your clothes, it is permanent!
Pick out the stitched label die from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies that cuts out a label that is 2-1/16" wide. Put it on top of the 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" wide Whisper White rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the large white rectangle inside the card so it is centered on the back panel. Fold the top flap of the card down. Still WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" Crumb Cake strip across the bottom of the card. STILL WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the label cut out on the left side of the card front.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Above The Clouds Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the exposed white cardstock on the inside of the card.
If desired, you can stamp the banner images across the top of the inside white rectangle before adhering it to the inside of the card. If you stamp them, use Block B and the Seaside Spray and Mint Macaron Ink Pads.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the inside of the card.
Mount the small, solid, inside pennant image from the Above The Clouds Set on Block A. Ink it up using the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp across the long bottom edge of the strip of Mint Macaron Cardstock. Let the flat bottom edge of the image go off the long, bottom edge of the cardstock so the pointy end of the image is pointing up and the images look like blades of grass. Let some of the images overlap and change the orientation slightly every so often. Re-ink the stamp every so often as well.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along one of the 4" edges of the Window Sheet piece as close to the edge as possible. Remove the protective backing and adhere the Window Sheet to the top flap of the card front so it is about 3/4" above the bottom of the flap and the sides are even with the sides of the white layer on the inside of the card.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the BACK of the BOTTOM long edge of the cloud stamped Seaside Spray rectangle. Remove the protective backing and add some SNAIL. Adhere the cloud stamped Seaside Spray rectangle to the top flap of the card front so it covers the top of the Window Sheet.
Open the card front. Lay the 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock along the bottom of the inside flap. Do NOT adhere!
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the BACK bottom 4" edge of the Window Sheet piece as close to the edge as possible. Remove the protective backing and close the card front so the Window Sheet will adhere to the strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the BACK of the TOP long edge of the grass stamped Mint Macaron rectangle. Remove the protective backing and add some SNAIL. Adhere the grass stamped Mint Macaron rectangle to the Crumb Cake rectangle on the bottom of the card front so it covers the bottom of the Window Sheet.
Put the white label cut out on top of some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters so it is easier to control the sponge and you have more surfaces to work with.
Rub the curved part of the sponge quarter across the open Seaside Spray Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly rub the inky sponge all over the white label cut out. Repeat until you have the color coverage you want. Get more ink on the sponge quarter as needed.
Tip: I just clean my sponges when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use small strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the sponged white label cut out near the top and bottom edges only to adhere the label cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the Window Sheet opening on the left side.
Mount the single, large, solid balloon image from the Above The Clouds Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper, then WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it on the small, vertical strip of white cardstock near the bottom with the bottom of the balloon pointing down.
Mount the large, outline balloon with stripes down the balloon image from the Above The Clouds Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped large, solid balloon image.
Unlock the Hot Air Balloon Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Get the balloon image centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the balloon punch out to the front of the card in the center of the sponged white label cut out.
Mount the tiny, outline basket image from the Above The Clouds Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the thin strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock.
Slide the stamped basket image into the unlocked Hot Air Balloon Punch and get the basket image centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Use a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the basket punch out in place below the hot air balloon punch out.
Use the tacky putty tip of the Take Your Pick to pick up a large Seaside Spray sequin from the Woven Threads Sequin Assortment. Adhere it to the top left side of the hot air balloon punch out using a Mini Glue Dot.
Cut a 12-1/2" piece of the Mint Macaron 1/4" Textile Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the card front at the top. Tie in place with a knot. Trim the ends.
